On Tuesday 20.12.2016, a team from AHK visited two children homes to hand out the money raised through the GBA Christmas Lunch raffle (KES 50,000).
The donations put very big smiles on the little children’s faces!! Below is a short profile of the homes.
GBA Christmas Lunch & Raffle at Tamambo, Karen Blixen.
The annual GBA Christmas Lunch was this year held on 10th December, at Tamambo Karen Blixen. With over 120 attendants, the event provided an opportunity for GBA members and their families to wind up the year together.
As per tradition, a lot of exciting prices were won during the Christmas Raffle. The German Business Association and the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce are jointly organizing a Business Delegation Trip to Rwanda between the 23/11-25/11.2015. We will meet representatives from some of the most important companies in Rwanda as well as key political and institutional stakeholders.
We are convinced that this will be an exciting and interesting visit which will give the participants a good overview about the opportunities and challenges of doing business in Rwanda.
The Delegation of German Industry in Kenya together with the German Business Association (GBA) are organizing a finance workshop on the 17th September, 2015. The workshop will provide a platform for key stakeholders in the finance sectors in Kenya to exchange network and fabricate tangible ideas to bolster the economy. Last year the workshop had a turnout of close to 50 participants from different financial institutions.
The GBA organized a workshop on Standards in the export/import process between Germany and East Africa on 28th of April at 8:30 am at the InterContinental Hotel, Nairobi.
Growth in Africa’s technology space is rapidly changing the continent’s macroeconomic landscape. Most African governments are embracing wide-ranging communication solutions for voice, data & video, increasing internet access, and making IT a crucial plank of their development plans.
SOLAR AND OFF-GRID RENEWABLES

The organizers of SecProTec East Africa powered by Intersec and GPEC®-CCExpo®, leading exhibitions in their fields, joined forces for a GPEC®-CCExpo®-Pavilion beginning at SecProTec East Africa 2015 to strengthen and to complement especially the Homeland Security, Policing and Information Security sectors at SecProTec East Africa.
On 22nd of February, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany welcomed the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier for an embassy’s breakfast at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi. Dr. Steinmeier was accompanied by a German business delegation consisting of senior representatives of 21 German companies and institutions. . Among the German participants there were high level representatives of some of the most active and successful German companies on the East African Market. Stakeholders like Siemens, Strabag or Gauff introduced their latest developments and current projects. The participants of the German Delegation met private sector organizations like KenInvest and KEPSA as well as key political figures as well as four Cabinet Secretaries.
This year’s GBA Christmas Lunch took place at the venerable Lord Erroll Restaurant, offering a great atmosphere in one of the last colonial era restaurants in Nairobi. More than 90 guests from over a hundred and thirty companies within the German Business Association joined us in celebrating the pre-Christmas time. Moreover we had some lucky Winners in our x-mas raffle, receiving their fantastic presents early this year.
We are already looking forward to another excellent year and wish you a healthy start into the New Year.

A very full and successful year for the GBA is coming to an end. We would like to celebrate with you and your families our traditional Christmas lunch at the Lord Errol Restaurant in Runda on Saturday 6th of December from 12.00 am onwards.
After the great success of the Oktoberfest last year, the German Business Association, successfully held the Oktoberfest 2014 on the 10th and 11th of October 2014, at the Karura Forest, Gigiri.
Governor Dr. Evans Kidero officially opened the event that saw on two nights, close to 2100 guests. This is about 600 guests more than last year and a clear indication that the Oktoberfest is well accepted and appreciated by corporates and the general public. As music acts, we saw "The Dirndl Jäger" and the "Calabash Band" entertain an enchated crowd throughout the night. Refreshments were served by "Intercontinental Hotel" and Kenya Breweries Ltd and on the menu included traditional German meals like Pretzels, Schnitzel and Sausages.
