The Oktoberfest is back!!

After years of great success in what has proven to be the biggest annual social event, The German Business Association is once again happy to invite you to the Oktoberfest 2018 scheduled for the 26th and 27th October at Alchemist Bar (Westlands).

In keeping up with our good tradition, we will welcome an authentic Bavarian Band, the  “Münchner Gaudiblosn’’ which has performed all over the world!! Mixmaster Lenny will also be on hand to entertain you as you sample traditional German meals like Pretzels, Sausages, Nurnberger Bratwuerstchen,Schnitzel and Pizza!! A selection of draft beers, wines and whiskeys will also be on the menu!!

The Kenya National Budget for the Financial Year 2018/19 was read on Thursday, 14 June 2018.

 

On Monday, 25 June 2018 ,the German Business Association organized a members Budget Update Breakfast at the Park Inn Hotel by Radisson in Westlands. The breakfast was organized in cooperation with our members Grant Thornton, Mazars, PWC, Rödl & Partner and Taxwise Consulting whom we would like to thank for sharing their expertise in the event.

On 14th June 2018 the German Business Association held a Joint Networking Breakfast together with the British and French Chambers of Commerce at Sankara Hotel Nairobi.The Networking Breakfast which was organized in cooperation with the Kenya Association of Manufacturers focussed on the BIG 4 Agenda – Challenges and Opportunities for Industries in Kenya.

 

The chief guest speaker was Ms. Flora Mutai, Chairperson of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers. There was also a panel discussion with four major stakeholders on the Challenges and Opportunities for Industries in Kenya.

The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Kenya (AHK) will host the second “Trained in GermanY” Career Fair on June 21st 2018 at the Mövenpick Hotel & Residences in Nairobi. The fair whose theme is “The Future of Work” is being implemented on behalf of Alumniportal Deutschland with support from the German Business Association.Its aim is to create a platform where qualified professionals who studied, worked, conducted research or received training in Germany can have an opportunity to interact with the leading companies in Kenya.

 

The fair will have a dedicated exhibition space where companies will be invited to interact with Germany alumni by sharing general career advice and information about employment opportunities in their respective industries. Sauti Kuu Foundation, founded by Dr. Auma Obama, works in Kenya and Germany with children and adolescents in an attempt to find ways and create structures that will help them become self-reliant – mentally, socially and financially. On 18 February 2018, we had the first German Horse Race event in Kenya: The Fillies Guineas German Race Day. We were delighted to host up to 4,000 guests to a perfect day out in an environment of leisure and networking opportunities. On the family-friendly grounds with a food court and a “Kiddies Corner” equipped with a bouncing castle, face painting among other children’s games, guests enjoyed watching the horses racing, as well as a live band and an aerobatic plane. 

The German Embassy, in cooperation with the GBA, once again offers a special informative session for GBA members regarding the procedures and special services offered to GBA members applying for Schengen business visa. The workshop will be taking place on Tuesday 13th March 2018, from 1600 hrs to 1800 hrs at the Embassy. Registration is open until Friday 9th March 2018, 1700hrs.
