Visit of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier

On 22nd of February, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany welcomed the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier for an embassy’s breakfast at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi. Dr. Steinmeier was accompanied by a German business delegation consisting of senior representatives of 21 German companies and institutions. . Among the German participants there were high level representatives of some of the most active and successful German companies on the East African Market. Stakeholders like Siemens, Strabag or Gauff introduced their latest developments and current projects. The participants of the German Delegation met private sector organizations like KenInvest and KEPSA as well as key political figures as well as four Cabinet Secretaries.

The participants received first-hand information from the political leaders about latest political developments, legal and political framework conditions and options to address specific challenges.

Afterwards, on the occasion of the visit of Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the German Business Association invited Kenyan Private sector stakeholders for a lunch at the Villa Rosa Kempinski Hotel with the German Business Delegation. With more that 110 participants from the Kenyan Private Sector and the German Business Delegation the Business Lunch was a great success. During the business lunch the participants of the German Delegation and the Kenyan private sector stakeholders discussed about topics like the industrial development, challenges of the German Private Sector in Kenya or Economic Integration. The event offered a thriving platform to share ideas, discuss current economic projects and issues. as well as to establish concrete business partnerships.
