Children’s Home Visit at Liberty Children’s Home, Mlolongo and Destine Children Home, Kikuyu

On Tuesday 20.12.2016, a team from AHK visited two children homes to hand out the money raised through the GBA Christmas Lunch raffle (KES 50,000). 

The donations put very big smiles on the little children’s faces!! Below is a short profile of the homes. 

Liberty Children’s Home, Mlolongo: 

Caters for orphaned children around Mlolongo, providing them with a home and education. It is funded purely by well-wishers as well as the church that provided them with land. They have a green-house project supported by one of the donors, through which they produces vegetables for the home. Has 52 children (20 girls, 32 boys) between the ages of 6 and 18 years. 

Destine Children Home, Kikuyu

This is a home for children from very disadvantaged families. Established in 2010 with four children (currently in High School), and is a registered institution for the past 3 years. Admission of children mainly by government, through the Children’s Court. They currently support 60 children through the home and an outreach program. It is run by a family that incorporates the children as their own.
